Webl Culture 101
By Dr. Strange
So your new to Webl, Congrats!!!! This is a fun game full of strategy, colorful managers, heavy smack talk, and
great clans. To help you along the way of how the culture in here works, I have prepared some information to help
you along your journey,or get you ready for some of the wild things you might encounter along your fighting career
in here.

1. Read the directions on the game (See the
Webl help pages or The Webl Primer )this will help you get a feel for
what your getting into....Learn the
Webl Slang ,and NEVER be scared to email any gym for help in understanding,
there is not a rude one in the bunch!

2. You might want to create fighters in the rookies region first so you can learn how the Sim works, how you create
a Fight Plan (FP), a viable build, allot of newer gyms start here to get their feet wet.

3.Rookies Rules are as follows - Per Sanford.

The Rookie region is for managers that are new to the game. To keep that region fair for the new players, the
moderators need to retire rookie fighters when at least one of the following exist:

  • 1. The gym has 10 Rookie titles.

  • 2. The gym has fought in Contenders.

  • 3. The gym has fought over 500 times in their geographic region or the Rookie region.

  • 4. The gym has a regional title.

  • 5. The manager has restarted in a new gym and at least one of the above conditions have been met.

4. Creating your Gym has many aspects:

  • If your wanting to have a friend in your gym, this is called a combined gym. Those rules are as follows -
    Sanford

  • 1. It needs to be made known to the Mods. You may use the Talk To Us or Contact webmaster links or
you can email your regional mod.

  • 2. All managers will be listed on the gym page. The most prominent gym that you've managed or the
name that you are known by other managers is acceptable. There is no exceptions to this.

  • 3. Only contenders can be transferred from original gyms. The exception to this rule is specialty
    region fighters (Unsanctioned, BK, etc.).

  • 4. All fighters in the original gyms should be retired before the new fighters in the combo gym have
    their first bout scheduled.

  • Title fight bug:  - Sanford

Currently, the "no 2 ap fight" isn't set for title fights. If your fighter is at 17 or 27 status and is in line for the
title fight, he will get it. If you don't want the disadvantage, retire your fighter or move him to a different
    weight division.

This is a known bug and there is no longer any need to post it in the bug forums.

  • Addition to title fight rules:  - Sanford

If the top two active fighters in a weight division are at the maximum rating/ status for that division, the fight
should be a title fight. If for some strange reason (or bug) it's not a title fight, let it be known in the Bug
Forum and a moderator will fix it. If you don't say anything until after words, don't expect a title to be handed
    to you.

  • Come up with a back story for your gym, the more interesting the better, but remember to keep it within
    AUP!!!

  • Decorate your gym page!!!!! Photobucket is a good host for pictures for your gym (No NUDES,or Rude
    Shots Please)

Stepping into the world of Smack!!!!

There are 2 lines of Smack;Fighter on Fighter which is the dialogue between 2 fighters that are scheduled a bout
in a region in
Press Releases, and manager on manager smack that happens in Webl's Forums in Role Play

(IT IS IMPORTANT THAT IN BOTH ASPECTS TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE A CHARACTER NOT THE PERSON
THAT IS BEING WRITTEN TO,SO TREAT IT AS SUCH. REMAIN IN CHARACTER AND IN AUP AND YOU WILL
HAVE A GREAT TIME....IF YOU FEEL THAT ITS GETTING PERSONAL THEN EMAIL THE GYM TO LET THEN
KNOW YOU WERE BOTHERED BY IT OR NOTIFY A MOD. HAVE FUN ITS A GAME!!!!)
Basically your looking
at this, No F Bombs;Racist Remarks;Family Information;Or Personal Information
. Role Play is your fighter
character or your manager's character
NOT YOU or YOUR PERSONAL BEEF so when you cross the line a
censor or gag will ensue. If that happens, please
contact the mod for clarification.

An article by
Nick's Naughty Ninja's to get some ideas or guidelines on smack, or how to have fun with it.

You will meet many interesting persona's in here. Some will always be in character, some not. You will know.....

Back when The Gulf Region was around, smack was fierce, if you stepped into the press room you better be able
to back it up! If you called you were going to win and you didn't you got crap for about a week. If you called out a
gym and you blew it, be able to take it!!! And if you had a losing record, some gyms would not even address you
till you were better....It was all about respect and getting better, and any gym in any region when emailed then and
now, will always be helpful, or at least tell you who can help, but in the presses and the role play area, wear your
war hat!!......Those are the gyms that drove us in the beginning, and those are the ones that blazed the smack
trail.....You will see some of them.....but be careful, some are just as sharp as they once were, can you feed the
fire? Do you have what it takes? We will see!!!

                      A Final Word...?

Webl Chat is a great place to learn the sim, make friends, get the low down on the rumor of the day, find a clan or
just play Simbot.  Simbot is a fighting sim that uses the FP styles and numbers used in Webl.
Sardonics Gym can
explain that to you and how to get set up....Tell Em Doc Sent Ya!!!!!

Take your time, Explore the regions, EKO, Bare Knuckles,Unsanctioned, And the Private regions (The Private
region is  Un - Moded, so enter at your own risk!!! But its always fun to have a few friends in one to learn and run
tournaments!!!!

Thats roughly the community and the basics of what you will come up against...Remember you can always ask
Questions in the forum and someone will get to ya...... Have fun!!!!
